In the case of fatigue, I look at various factors contributing to low energy levels. For example, I examine the quality of my client’s sleep, nutrition habits, stress levels, and overall lifestyle. By identifying potential causes of fatigue, I can develop personalized treatment plans that address my client’s specific individualized needs.
Introduction to Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. The word “Ayurveda” is derived from the Sanskrit words for “life” and “knowledge,” and its principles are based on the idea that the mind, body, and spirit are all connected and should be in balance for optimal health.
Ayurveda recognizes three main doshas, or body types: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each dosha is associated with specific physical and emotional traits, and imbalances in these doshas can lead to various health issues, including fatigue.
By understanding a client’s unique dosha profile, I can develop treatment plans tailored to their needs. These plans may include dietary changes, herbal remedies, massage and other body therapies, and lifestyle recommendations.
While Ayurveda has been used for centuries, it is becoming increasingly popular in the West as people seek natural and holistic healthcare approaches. Many people have found relief from various health issues, including fatigue, using Ayurvedic treatments and practices.

Ayurvedic Approaches to Beating Fatigue
Ayurveda offers a range of approaches to help combat fatigue and improve energy levels. Since each person has a unique dosha profile, the specific remedies and treatments used may vary from person to person. However, here are some of the most common Ayurvedic approaches I use in my practice to address fatigue:
Ayurvedic practitioners often prescribe herbs and supplements that are believed to help balance the doshas and promote energy. For example, ashwagandha is an herb often used to combat stress and fatigue, while Triphala is a blend of three fruits that can help support digestive health and boost energy.
Ayurveda emphasizes eating foods appropriate for one’s dosha type. For example, those with a Vata dosha may benefit from warm, grounding foods like soups and stews, while those with a Pitta dosha may benefit from cooling foods like cucumber and mint. I do recommend avoiding processed foods and focusing on whole, nourishing foods to promote energy and vitality.
Ayurvedic massage, or Abhyanga, involves applying warm herbal oils to the body in a specific pattern to promote relaxation and balance the doshas. This type of massage can be beneficial for reducing stress and fatigue.
If you have limited time, gua sha may be a more feasible option than an Ayurvedic massage. This ancient Chinese therapy involves using a smooth tool made of jade or other materials to gently massage and scrape the skin, with the goal of improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and promoting healing. It can be applied to various body areas, including the face, neck, and shoulders.
Fortunately, gua sha can be performed relatively quickly, in just a few minutes, while still delivering significant benefits. If you’re interested in enhancing the positive effects of both gua sha and Ayurveda, I recommend using wilding products. Yoga and pranayama

Both holistic health and Ayurveda emphasize the importance of eating whole, nutrient-dense foods to promote energy and wellness. You can nourish your body and support optimal energy levels by focusing on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Some of my favorite foods to combat fatigue are below:
Sugar is usually the first thing we reach for when energy is low, and instead of reaching for chocolate or denying your sweet tooth, blueberries are a wonderful low-glycemic option that won’t have you crashing later. Instead of denying your sweet tooth, swap the cookies for low-glycemic blueberries that won’t leave you crashing later.
It’s important to utilize fat as fuel instead of carbs and sugar, which are short lasting. A great fat to incorporate into your diet is avocado, as it’s a fantastic source of fiber, fat, and protein and goes easily in most meals.
Seafood is a great thing to add to your diet because it is high in essential omega-3 fatty acids. Research has shown that omega-3s can help balance your mood, enhance cognitive function, and help stabilize blood sugar.
Health conditions like chronic fatigue are often rooted in chronic inflammation. Tumeric is wonderful and is known as an anti-inflammatory superfood. One of my favorite things is to drink golden milk or stew apples with coconut oil and turmeric as breakfast or a snack.
Prioritize sleep and stress management
Both holistic health and Ayurveda recognize the importance of sleep and stress management for overall health and wellness. By practicing relaxation techniques, such as meditation or yoga, prioritizing sleep hygiene, and honoring your body’s circadian rhythm, you can improve your energy levels and reduce feelings of fatigue.
Also, a acupressure mat and sauna blanket are two excellent resources for reducing stress and promoting improved sleep. An acupressure mat is a foam mat covered in thousands of small, plastic spikes. When you lie down on the mat, the spikes stimulate pressure points on your body, similar to the practice of acupuncture. This stimulation can help to relieve tension, reduce pain, and promote relaxation, all of which can aid in reducing stress and improving sleep.
On the other hand, a sauna blanket is a portable, at-home sauna that uses infrared heat to promote sweating and detoxification. The heat generated by the sauna blanket can help to relax muscles, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation, all of which can contribute to better sleep and reduced stress levels.
Incorporate movement and breathwork
Holistic health and Ayurveda encourage movement and breathwork to promote energy and vitality. By incorporating practices like breath work, yoga, and pilates, you can improve circulation, reduce stress, and boost energy levels.
